How long have you worked at KAPPA?

 Since 2016 so I believe. It’s my eighth year.

What was your major in college and what college did you go to?

I went to St. John’s University in Queens and my major is in Math and my minor is Computer Science.

What grades are you currently teaching and what subjects?

Geometry and Computer Science but mainly all grades.

Why Computer Science?

Comp Science is a career path for many folks, but they need to be exposed to it. The more we learn about the computers around us, the better we’ll be in the future.

Why did you choose to be a Math teacher?

I love Math personally, and also knew the struggles of learning Math and wanted to teach others with the struggles that I had.

If you could teach any other subject, what would you teach ?

I’d probably teach Gym because I love to work out!

How many schools have you taught in?

Only KAPPA. 

What are some of your best teaching experiences?

Whenever I get students that graduate and they come back to tell me how they’re doing and seeing the growth of my students.

Describe a regular day at KAPPA.

I arrive at around 7:50 am, get settled, prepare to teach. I have first period, then Crew. After P.E  I make them aware of what to do, and then I teach 5th, 6th periods.

What would you want your students to know about you?

Personally I’ve been through a lot of struggles with Math. It didn’t always come easily to me and it took a while to persevere and overcome these challenges.
